“If you don’t want to find it in the sea, throw it here.” Thus says Coldiretti’s slogan on the occasion of the start of the collection service of used cooking oil, at the San Paolo park in Fuorigrotta. Coldiretti Napoli – in agreement with the Department of the Environment of the Municipality of Naples and Asia Naples – has launched the Ri-Olio initiative, thanks to which a can of extra virgin olive oil is offered as a gift. olive, “peasant oil”, guaranteed by the olive growers organization Aprol Campania.

The goal is to encourage and promote the recycling of used oil, avoiding overloading the drains and reducing the impact on the environment. A habit that has not yet become part of the daily routine of citizens.

“The circular economy – comments Gennarino Masiello, national vice president of Coldiretti – is one of the challenges of a new model of agriculture and protection of the sea. With this gesture of availability we wanted to highlight that care of the body and care of the environment are indissoluble choices.
Waste oil is a threat to the ecosystem and can become an opportunity, just as low-quality oil at the table is a threat to health. We therefore invite citizens who arrive at our Campagna Amica covered market to recycle used oil and to choose Italian extra virgin olive oil ».
