It is a lifestyle that includes a series of skills, knowledge, rituals, symbols and traditions concerning cultivation, harvesting, fishing, breeding, conservation, cooking and above all the sharing and consumption of food. Eating together is the basis of the cultural identity and continuity of communities in the Mediterranean basin, where the values \u200b\u200bof hospitality, neighborhood, intercultural dialogue and creativity are combined with respect for the territory and biodiversity. In this sense, the cultural heritage of the Mediterranean diet plays a vital role in rituals, festivals, celebrations, cultural events, bringing together people of all ages and social classes. It is a community life that also enhances local crafts and vocations, such as the production of containers for the conservation and consumption of food, the artistic manufacture of ceramic and glass plates and glasses, the art of embroidery and weaving.<br \/>\nIn perfect balance between humanistic and scientific culture, the Mediterranean Diet has contributed to the construction of an identity that has now gone far beyond territorial or food borders.
