Olive tree in the rest of the world<\/h1><\/div>

The natural distribution area of \u200b\u200bthe olive tree runs through most of the coastal regions of what the Romans called the Mare Nostrum.<\/p>\n

It crosses the Strait of Gibraltar only in recent times and lands in areas, with particular environmental conditions, which are identified between the 30th and 45th parallel, both in the northern and southern hemisphere, taking solid roots thanks to the importance that the extra virgin olive oil taken in the diet.<\/p>\n

Europe, with the countries bordering the Mediterranean, has the primacy for quantity and quality of extra virgin olive oil produced, followed by North Africa which has always been dedicated to olive growing and with the same climatic conditions.
\nTunisia<\/strong> is one of the main producers in the world and is an important reality, especially for exports.
\nMorocco<\/strong> stands out for its qualitative potential and for the government policy that bets on the olive sector and on the study of native cultivars.
\nAlgeria<\/strong> signals small growth but the road to the international market is uphill.
\nEgypt and Libya<\/strong> do not have significant production numbers.<\/p>\n

South Africa<\/em> stands out for the quality of the extra virgin olive oils produced despite not having the olive tree among their historical crops
\nEthiopia and Namibia<\/strong> could become olive growing lands, the study to develop this potential is underway.<\/p>\n

In Asia, Syria<\/strong> stands out, despite not having technological support, and Turkey<\/strong>, for an important growth in the sector. Jordan, Palestine, Lebanon, Israel,<\/strong> also on the Asian continent<\/em>, have small productions strongly rooted in the territory, in these lands olive growing has an important function in society.
\nIn Saudi Arabia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Iran<\/strong> and Yemen<\/strong> as well as in Pakistan, Afghanistan<\/strong> to get to India, China<\/strong> and Japan<\/strong>, olive growing is a bet for the future.<\/p>\n

In the rest of the world<\/em>, olive growing has a very recent history, as already mentioned, but interesting and with great potential.<\/p>\n

Australia <\/strong>emerges in Oceania<\/em>, with technology and quality, but New Zealand<\/strong> also records significant growth.<\/p>\n

In America<\/em>, oil is produced in the United States<\/strong> and Mexico<\/strong>, although the largest quantities come from Argentina<\/strong> and Chile<\/strong>.
\nUruguay<\/strong> and Peru<\/strong> are also appearing, with a bottling start and good projects.
\nBrazil<\/strong> closes with the mission of becoming a producing country to meet the large internal demand for oil products and reduce imports.<\/p>\n<\/div>
